Hey all. I have a small announcement: Set on Earth, my collection of short stories and novellas, is now in the creative commons. I’m not under the impression that anyone cares, but it is something I’ve been meaning to do for a long time now, so I’m happy about it.
For those unaware, copyright lasts a long time. Too long, in my opinion. So with Set on Earth, I decided to open those stories up to the public a mere ninety four years before the copyright would have otherwise expired. Yes, for anyone doing the math: the last story to enter the public domain would be Meanwhile in Baghdad, in the year 2111. That’s… ridiculous. Six months (from November 16th until last Tuesday) was plenty long enough for that one. Take it. Do stuff to it. If you do cool stuff to it, lemme know, I’d love to hear about it.
But yeah, that’s about all I have to say. I don’t expect these will be the last things I put in the creative commons either, but I think this is a pretty nice start. Have fun everybody. ❤
